Prince Arthur: an English pub with a Spanish soul
How we reworked a late-Victorian pub on Pimlico Road on a tight schedule — without losing what made it a local.
Prince Arthur sits in a late-Victorian building on Pimlico Road. The brief was to open a new chapter for the pub: keep the intimacy regulars love, and bring in the warmth and expressiveness of Spanish food culture.
We started with what the building already gave us — proportions, timber, the rhythm of the windows — and built the palette around deep burgundy, copper and handmade ceramics.
Working to a compressed programme meant every decision had to be made once. Joinery, lighting and finishes were specified early and coordinated with London contractors while the studio worked remotely between site visits.
