Terra
About the project
Warm timber, generous furniture and sculptural light define the character of this villa. Terra is the second of two concepts developed for the developer of a residential complex in Sardinia. The contemporary interior reinterprets the aesthetic of Italian design of the 1960s and 1970s: expressive silhouettes, rich natural tones and close attention to the texture of materials.
Veneered panels bring the walls, built-in cabinetry and bookshelves together into a single composition. The kitchen appliances are concealed behind timber fronts, while the island, with its contrasting stone pattern, becomes an accent in its own right. A low sofa, large armchairs and rounded tables lend the space a sense of solidity and invite unhurried rest.
Brown, terracotta and amber tones are complemented by coloured glass and soft textiles. Above the dining area hangs a composition of clear and amber pendants. Sculptural lamps and integrated lighting create different lighting scenarios, revealing the depth of colour and the relief of the surfaces.
In the bedrooms, timber is combined with plush upholstered beds, while the bathrooms feature expressive stone surfaces in earthy and green tones. Large forms and rich textures are balanced by restrained finishes, preserving the coherence of the interior and a sense of domestic warmth.
